THE SAVING GOSPEL Part 1 (I Corinthians 15:1-5)

The gospel word has a military origin, and understanding this is very crucial to grasping the profound significance of the gospel message. The term *euangelion* conveyed a decisive victory, a proclamation of salvation from imminent peril.

For the Gospel, this means Jesus Christ has fought and won the battle against sin and death on humanity’s behalf. Therefore, the gospel declares that Jesus entered the battlefield of sin and death, engaged in the conflict, and emerged victorious. His death and resurrection represent the ultimate good news, victory over the enemies that endanger all humanity.
