THE BLESSEDNESS OF GIVING PART 3
A giver must understand that everything we possess has been given to us by God and should be viewed as a potential seed. God will never require us to give what He has not already provided. Therefore, giving is not about losing something, but about stewarding what already belongs to God.
“You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth…” (Deuteronomy 8:18)
“So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have.” (2 Corinthians 8:11)
This means that not only what we have, but even our ability to acquire it, comes from God. God expects us to give out of what we already have, not out of what we do not have.
