WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT DIVORCE? Part 3 (1 Corinthians 6:1-6)

Divorce has sadly become a common solution for marital conflict, even among believers. Yet Scripture consistently reveals God’s heart on the matter—He does not desire divorce (Malachi 2:16). Jesus reminded the Pharisees that from the very beginning, God intended marriage to be a lifelong union (Matthew 19:3–9). The apostle Paul also emphasized that husbands and wives should not separate, and if they do, reconciliation, not dissolution, should be the goal (1 Corinthians 7:10–11). While Scripture provides one legitimate ground for divorce, sexual immorality, it still calls believers to pursue every godly avenue of restoration first.
