TOPIC: THE EKKLESIA PART 5

Ephesians 4:11–16 provides a divine blueprint for the Church: leadership is for discipleship, and discipleship is for Christlikeness. When leaders fulfill their duties, the Church reaches her goal, and the saints live out their purpose—grounded in truth, stable in doctrine, and growing into the fullness of Christ.

Discipleship is the process of growing believers into the full likeness of Christ, transforming their character and grounding them in biblical truth It is through mature disciples that God’s will is effectively carried out on earth. In the passage from Ephesians 4:11–16, we see that all the spiritual gifts and leadership offices within the body of Christ serve one unified purpose: to edify—to build up—the Church, meaning to grow believers into spiritual maturity in Christ.
