THE REDEEMING FAITH: LESSON FROM THE BOOK OF RUTH Part 2 (Ruth 1:6-22)

Naomi’s return reminds us that no matter how far we have strayed, there is always hope when we turn back to God. Ruth’s confession of faith shows us what true discipleship looks like, counting the cost, forsaking all, and clinging to God with covenant loyalty. And the bond between Naomi and Ruth points us to the faithful love of God that holds us even in our darkest seasons.
Above all, this passage foreshadows the greater redemption found in Christ. Just as Ruth’s decision led to her inclusion in the lineage of David and ultimately of Jesus, our decision to follow Christ brings us into God’s eternal family. The Redeemer is already at work—even when we cannot see it.
