THE BLESSEDNESS OF GIVING Part 2 (Matthew 25:31-46)

One fundamental principle of generosity is that it must be done willingly. A true giver is one who gives out of a willing heart, not one who has been coerced, pressured, or manipulated into giving. Every act of giving should reflect a genuine desire to do good for the benefit of the receiver and for the glory of God (Exodus 25:1–2; 35:5, 21, 29; 2 Corinthians 9:5-7; Ezra 1:6).

This principle is important because it reveals the true motivation behind our giving. When giving is done willingly, it demonstrates that it flows from love and a spirit of self-sacrifice, rather than obligation or external pressure. God is not merely concerned with the gift itself, but with the heart from which it is given.
