LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD Part 2 (Matthew 10:37-39)

For us to express our love for God adequately, we must first be well grounded in what the Bible describes as love—agape. This is important because the love described and demonstrated in Scripture is quite different from what we commonly refer to as love in everyday language.

As I mentioned last week, biblical love is sacrificial love. It is considered the greatest form of love because it is self-giving and not motivated by the desire to receive anything in return. It is the kind of love in which the offended chooses to take upon Himself the punishment of the offender. This is exactly what Christ did for us, and it is no surprise that such love is often described as amazing love
