LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JOSEPH PART 4 Genesis 39:7-23

Joseph’s response to Potiphar’s wife stands as a timeless example of moral courage and spiritual integrity. Everyday Joseph was confronted with this demand for illicit sex, yet he refused. Genesis 39:10 tells us, “And as she spoke to Joseph day after day, he would not listen to her, to lie beside her or to be with her.” Despite the ongoing pressure and temptation, Joseph remained firm in his conviction. His powerful reply—“How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”—shows that he understood sexual sin as not merely a betrayal of human trust but, more importantly, a sin against God.
