LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JOSEPH Part 2

Dreams are a natural part of the human experience. They occur during sleep and often feel very vivid and real. Every one of us has had dreams while sleeping—some are vivid, some strange, and some so real they stay with us for days.

Throughout Scripture, we see several examples of God speaking through dreams—offering guidance, warning, or revealing future events. From Abraham to Jacob, from Pharaoh to Nebuchadnezzar, and even in the New Testament—Joseph, the husband of Mary, was guided by God through dreams

In Joseph’s case, it’s not surprising that he had dreams. His father, Jacob, also had profound dream encounters with God (Genesis 28:10–17, for example). But unlike Jacob’s dreams, Joseph’s dreams are not just personal—they are prophetic. They are connected to the destiny of God’s people and the fulfillment of His covenant with Abraham.

Joseph’s dreams were about more than just family—they were about the future of a nation. And while his brothers couldn’t see it at the time, those dreams were a glimpse into the unfolding of God’s plan of redemption.

    Genesis 37:12-28
