EKKLESIA PART2

    TOPIC: EKKLESIA Part 2

It is known throughout the Old Testament that the children of Israel are referred to as the “God’s people”. They were chosen by God amongst the nations to be separated as God’s own children. They were separated from surrounding cultures by divine law, worship practices, and covenant identity. They were given the Torah, a land to live in, and a divine mission to be a light to the nations.

However, when Jesus came, He fulfilled the law and the prophets. Through His death and resurrection, He established a new covenant—not just with one nation, but with all who would believe in Him. The early apostles, especially Paul, began to understand that the Church (Ekklesia) was now the continuation of God’s people—not replacing Israel, but fulfilling its prophetic purpose (Romans 9:6–9). The Church, made up of Jews and Gentiles, became a new community called out from the world to carry God’s presence and message into every nation (Ephesians 2:11–22).
