    So, what does Christ mean by this question: “Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?” Christ is asking a rhetorical question, assuming that His listeners already know the answer. It is a statement based on a greater-to-lesser argument more like a call for perspective, meaning that the worth of life is not measured by food, and the worth of the body is not measured by clothing. Essentially, Christ is saying: Why focus on the lesser at the expense of the greater? This means that if your life and body are truly valuable to you, then your primary focus should be the Kingdom of God.
