BELIEVERS UNION WITH CHRIST: STUDY THROUGH THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS PART 4 (Ephesians 1:3-14)

To the Praise of His Glory”

Paul opens this passage with an outburst of worship: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”(Ephesians 1:3). From the very beginning, it is clear that this section is not merely theological explanation but doxology—praise flowing from a heart captured by what God has done. Throughout the passage, Paul repeatedly uses the phrase “to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14), even ending the passage with it. This repetition is not accidental. Paul is deliberately teaching us that everything God has done for us in Christ—every spiritual blessing, every act of redemption, every eternal promise—has one ultimate purpose: the praise of God’s glory.
