BELIEVERS UNION WITH CHRIST: STUDY THROUGH THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS PART 20 (Ephesians 6:1-9)

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”(Ephesians 6:4)

It is interesting that fathers are also required to be in subjection to their children, and they do this by not provoking them and by bringing them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord

The instruction not to provoke your children to anger must be understood in light of the word “but,” which connects it to the command to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. This shows that there is a clear relationship between the two. In essence, Scripture is teaching that the proper way to raise children is by being a godly example to them. It is not through force or harsh discipline that we lead them rightly, but by guiding them through the way we live.
