BELIEVERS UNION WITH CHRIST: STUDY THROUGH THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS PART 16 (Ephesians 5:1-14)
“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:8)
One of the most frequent descriptions of believers in Scripture is light. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that we are the light of the world, and in this passage Paul echoes the same truth by calling believers light in the Lord. This means that believers, through union with Christ, share in His nature. Jesus declared Himself to be the light of the world (John 8:12), and now those who are in Him are called to reflect that same light. Once again, we see that all we are asked to do is shine the light we have received in Christ.
