BELIEVERS UNION WITH CHRIST: STUDY THROUGH THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS PART 12 (Ephesians 4:1-16)

Walking is an expression of who we are in Christ. That is why Paul urges us to walk in a manner consistent with our calling. This is our duty as members of God’s family, and this same emphasis is echoed throughout the New Testament. Believers are repeatedly exhorted to “walk worthy of the Lord” (Colossians 1:10), to “walk in Him” (Colossians 2:6), to “walk in a manner worthy of God” (1 Thessalonians 2:12), and to “conduct [themselves] in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ” (Philippians 1:27).

Therefore, the instruction to walk is a call to follow in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is our duty, our responsibility, and the clearest evidence that we have truly been united with Christ. There is a manner of life that is worthy of our calling; there is a way of living that demonstrates that we are now members of the family of God. This life is not optional, it is our purpose.
