BELIEVERS UNION WITH CHRIST: STUDY THROUGH THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS PART 1 (Ephesians 1:1-2)

Paul’s opening words in Ephesians 1:1–2 have reminded us of two foundational truths that shape the entire Christian life

First, Paul’s apostleship stands as a testimony to the sovereign will of God. His calling was not self-made, man-made, or negotiable—it was God’s sovereign appointment. In the same way, our calling and duty in Christ rests not on human effort but on God’s gracious initiative.

Second, Paul addresses believers as saints—God’s holy people. This title declares both our identity and our calling. We are set apart by Christ through His redeeming work, and we are called to live lives that reflect His holiness, faithfulness, and character. Being saints is not merely a status; it is a Spirit-empowered way of life.
