AGAPE Part 1 (1John 4:7-19)

Agape love is at the very heart of God’s nature. It is not simply one of His attributes but rather the essence of who He is. As we will see today, agape is self-sacrificing, boundaryless, and not dependent on mutual affection. It is an active choice, commanded by God, and only truly possible through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Because God is love, those who claim to know Him are called to reflect that same selfless, unconditional love to others.

By recognizing that love originates in God and was revealed most powerfully through the sending of His Son, Jesus Christ, we are left without excuse in our own calling to love. Agape is not just a concept to be admired—it is a divine reality to be embraced and lived out daily, as we continually draw from God’s inexhaustible well of grace and truth.
